EDSI Engineers Josephine Emerick and Jean LaKemper participated in the 2018 WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar) Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter Transportation YOU Mentoring Day. The Mentoring Day is an annual WTS event to introduce young female students to transportation design. This year’s student participants were 8th graders from Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls, a STEM- focused St. Louis public all-girls school. WTS teamed with Forest Park Forever and the event was held in Forest Park. The day included a tour of completed project sites, a student project site, and a discussion panel of women engineers. The students were divided into teams and presented their solutions for the student project site. Josephine and Jean were part of the discussion panel of women engineers. Jean was also one of the project site speakers.
